GLASS goods
Ethical | Sustainable | Forward
I searched for a company that made quality apparel that I could order and transfer my designs onto.
I didn’t want just any company; I wasn’t looking for the cheapest and I didn’t necessarily want the most expensive, because neither of those options necessarily meant “ethically made”.
I learned a lot about the short comings and negative impact the fashion industry has on humans and the earth from the blog posts by Last Shot Apparel (LSA) over the last two years.
I wanted to find a company that treated and paid their employees well, that was locally sourced, that used recycled or discarded fabrics (if possible — didn’t know if it was), and that had uniquely designed apparel.
Too good to be true?
It isn’t.
✔️ Ethical: we source our apparel from LSA, a Canadian company that hand makes all of their apparel, in Canada (Edmonton & Vancouver, Canada); everyone is treated and is paid well.
✔️ Sustainable: all of our apparel is made of quality fabrics. Our supplier, LSA uses fabrics from a local company in Vancouver, Canada, who buys end-of-the-roll fabrics from large companies, saving the “unusable” fabric from getting discarded.
✔️ Forward: our pieces are fashionable and unique. Our apparel is designed collaboratively in house by the owners of GLASS goods and Last Shot Apparel.
To top it off, each batch of apparel is one-of-a-kind due to the sustainably sourced fabric: meaning there’s only a certain amount of each specific fabric to create each unique batch.
I purchase LSA apparel in batch orders and then my designs are put onto each piece by a local company in Medicine Hat, Canada: Boylan Imaging.
